Here are two pics from the first promotional photoshoot for Daniele Thompson’s Des gens qui s’embrassent! Monica is pictured with her “daughter” (played by Clara Ponsot) and her “niece” (played by Lou de Laage). It Happened in Saint-Tropez is the international title for the movie which is already listed on Pathé’s official site, with a small plot:

Bad timing! The funeral of Zef’s wife right when Roni’s daughter is getting married!

That unexpected event only makes the existing conflicts between the two brothers worse. Their professions, their life choices and even their wives couldn’t be more different. Religious austerity on one side, intense enjoyment of life’s pleasures on the other. They have nothing in common but their aging father who’s losing his grip and their respective daughters who adore one another.

From London to Paris, New York to Saint Tropez, showdowns, misunderstandings and betrayals all serve to blow up the family landscape. But out of the rubble of those arguments and haphazard reconciliations will blossom a beautiful love story — or two!

Questo evento inaspettato rende solo i conflitti già esistenti tra i due fratelli ancora peggiori. Le loro professioni, le loro scelte di vita e anche le loro mogli non potrebbero essere più diversi. Austerità religiosa da un lato, intenso godimento dei piaceri della vita dall’altro. Non hanno niente in comune tranne il loro vecchio padre che sta perdendo la pazienza e le rispettive figlie che si adorano l’un l’altra.

Da Londra a Parigi, da New York a Saint Tropez, scenate, fraintendimenti e tradimenti portano tutti a far esplodere lo scenario familiare. Ma da tutti questi litigi e inaspettate riconciliazioni nascerà una splendida storia d’amore – o due!

The official selection for the Cannes Film Festival has been just revealed, and – unfortunately – Bahman Ghobadi’s Rhinos Season is not included in the list as previously reported by Le blog du festival de Cannes.

The good news is that according to rumors, the movie is coming out on May 11… somewhere. Let’s wait and see!

La selezione ufficiale per il festival di Cannes è stata appena  rivelata, e – sfortunatamente – sembra che  Rhinos Season di Bahman Ghobadi non sia incluso nella lista come in precedenza annunciato da Le blog du festival de Cannes.

La buona notizia è che secondo alcune voci, il film dovrebbe uscire l’11 maggio… in qualche paese. Aspettiamo di scoprirlo!
