01 Sep 2010 • Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel to reunite for 2012 movie
As we revealed back in February, Monica Bellucci and husband Vincent Cassel are about to reunite for a still untitled romantic comedy, Cassel's publicist confirms. The movie will be directed by Kim Chapiron (who already directed Cassel in "Sheitan") and shot in February 2012, during the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Details of the project began to leak earlier in the week, when Cassel told USA Today that he and wife would work together again. No other news on the movie was revealed. This would be their eleventh project together - their last work was Pixar's "Robots", they dubbed in 2004 as Rodney and Cappy for the French version.
In the meantime, Cassel was in Venice promoting Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan" today, but Monica wasn't on his side, busy shooting "Un ้te brulant" in Rome.

27 Aug 2010 • EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Roxana Condurache, from "The Whistleblower"

Roxana Condurache is a young and talented Romanian stage actress who had the great opportunity to work with Rachel Weisz, Vanessa Redgrave and Monica Bellucci in Larysa Kondracki’s feature directorial debut "The Whistleblower", which is going to be presented in two weeks in Toronto.
Beautiful Ms. Condurache has agreed to have a chat with us on her work and the movie we all are waiting for. Expect to hear more of her soon, as The Whistleblower is expected to be one of the big hits of 2010!
Scroll down to read the full biography of Ms. Condurache.

Hi Roxana, thank you so much for your time and welcome to MonicaBellucciFan.com.
Hello! Thank you for the invite.

Let's talk about "The Whistleblower": how did you get involved with the
movie? Was this your first experience with US movie industry?

Well, I was in the second year in an acting school in Bucharest and I was working very hard to make a career in acting, going to a lot of auditions and castings. One day, I got a phonecall from a well-known casting agency here in Romania, and I was invited to audition for a part in a canadian movie. I was very excited of course. After a few meetings with the director, Larysa Kondracki, and one of the producers, I got the part. It was my first role in an important movie and my first experience with US movie industry, and I found it amazing.

Did you like the script? Which character do you play?
I felt so connected to the story, that the first time a read one of the scenes with my character, I immediately started crying, so it wasn’t that hard for me to aproch Raya Kochan. I had such a strong connection even from the first reading. I also felt that working for this movie ment fighting against so much injustice in the world.

Did you enjoy working with the director, Larysa Kondracki, and such a talented actress as Rachel Weisz?
It was a wonderful and fullfiling experience to work with Larysa Kondracki.
When we first met, we realised how much our names are alike: Condurache and Kondracki. I definitly felt it was destiny. I was very happy to see that I could understand her so well and felt free to express any emotions during the shootings. I understood immediately what she wanted from me and delivered. So, the comunication between us was very good, I think. Working with Rachel Weisz was such an honour for me and I had so many things to learn from her. I loved her warm and open way of beeing and her talent and hard work inspired me. I sure hope to work again with such great people.

Do you have any scenes with Monica Bellucci or did you meet her? Tell us
about it if you did!

I met Monica Bellucci on the set and I was blown away by her beauty and elegance. Actually, I think all the people on the set were. She just filled with light every room that she walked in. I found her very warm and powerful and she made me feel confident working with her.

Are you going to be in Toronto for the premiere?
I don’t know yet.

We see you are a talented stage actress. Are you looking forward to work more in Hollywood?
I would love to work again for big projects like this one. I’m actually looking for the right agent to represent me, because I want to develop a great career in acting. There aren’t any agents here in Romania, so I’m looking for one abroad.

Tell us about your next projects.
I will play the role of Katia, a clairvoyance gifted pianist in an italian thriller-horror movie that wil be shot in autumm in Orvieto, Italy. In Romania, I have another movie project with two young directors: Alexandra Baila and Mihail Radinoiu; we already worked together for some short-movies. I will be touring with a play by Shakespeare: “Midnight Summer’s Dream”, directed by Cristian Toma, where I play the tole of Titania. Also, I will continue working on a play called “How I became stupid” after Martin Pages’s book, directed by Liana Ceterchi. So, exciting things to look forward to!

Thank you so much Roxana for your time, and good luck with your work!

Roxana Maria Condurache was born on August 28th, 1987, in Iasi, Romania. She had a beautiful childhood and was interested in arts from a young age. She wanted to become a designer and used to draw a lot of clothes and then make them for her puppets. She learned from her mother the importance of a great
education and she was always one of the best students in school.

She always wanted to feel independent so she started working from an early age.
In 2002 she competed for the title of “Miss freshmen of Emil Racovita High
school” and won. This is how she was discovered by a modeling agency and started to work as a model. She then continued going to misses and won a lot of new titles: Miss of the Misses - 2006", Miss Popularity in "Miss Iasi" – 2006. In 2006 she changed the modeling agency and started to work with Maya Fashion of Roxana Nestian.
During high school she went to dance classes and studied Indian dance, modern dance and hip hop. She was member of a dance group named “Dreamotion” . During the competitions for the misses she realized she liked being in front of people and she accepted to be the hostess of events like these: " Miss freshmen of Emil Racovita High school - 2006", "Miss Summer 2008", "Mister Iasi 2008". She was very successful in the school plays. So, she realized her new dream was to become an actress. In order for that to happen, she left her hometown and moved to the capital of Romania, Bucuresti, to study acting.
In 2007 she started school in Bucuresti. Even from the first year of study, she
was chosen to work on two plays - a collaboration with The Mask Theatre for the play named “The Actors”. Then, Javier Opazo, a director from Berlin who came to make a play in Romania offered her a role in “Pulse”.
After this experience , Roxana Condurache thought it was the time to learn how to entertain people in a more happier way, so she accepted a small role in a comedy : the musical “The Gurton’s Needle”, at the Mask Theatre. She had to prepare for 3 months for this show, taking singing and dancing classes with Razvan Diaconu (composer) and Ioana Macarie (choreograph).

“Working for this musical helped me learn about comedy and entertainment. I loved the feeling of making people happy and hearing their laughter.”

In 2009 she played the role of a witness of the tragedy of Hiroshima. Again, she chose to portrait the life of a person who lived only to know pain and suffering. The play was called “Cries for Peace”, was directed by Liana Cetechi and was held at the “Theatre for The Few”, in Bucuresti. During this year, she also had a role in the play called “The Fear and Misery of the Third Reich” written by Bertold Brecht, and directed by Razvan Marinescu. The play won the best directing price in the festival called “Theatre for The Young Festival” held in Piatra Neamt, Romania. Same year, she was cast by Andrei Elvadeanu, a young director, for the leading role of his short film “Extracharged”.
2009 was a very important one for Roxana Condurache. That’s when she was discovered by Larysa Kondracki and offered a very important role in the movie “The Whisleblower”, starring great names such as Rachel Weisz, Vanessa Redgrave, David Strathairn, Monica Bellucci and Nikolaj Lie. Kaas . The movie will have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this year.
In 2010 she was cast for the leading role of another short-film, called “For Mona”, directed by Alexandra Baila, and had a small role in Mihail Radinoiu’s
short-film “Closed Thread”.
Same year, she received the opportunity to star in a video directed by Christian Loubeck. The video was made for the song “Unbelievable”, of a New York band called The Sleepy Rebels, which will be seen by the public in autumn.
This year was a busy one for Roxana Condurache. She received the role of Titania, in a Shakespearian play “The Midsummer Night’s Dream”, directed by Cristian Toma. The group of young actors traveled a lot in Romania to promote the play and in autumn they will continue touring in Romania and even abroad.
Now, Roxana Condurache decided that she will focus more on acting in movies and is looking forward to a great carrier , who knows, maybe in Hollywood.
