Monica Bellucci will star in “Le Meraviglie” (The Wonders). Le Meraviglie will be directed by Alice Rohrwacher, a young but still promising Italian talent who already won a Silver Ribbon in 2011 for her directorial debut “Corpo Celeste”.
Shootings will begin in October, when Monica is done with Emir Kusturica’s Love and War.

Speaking about Love and War, Kusturica (who also scripted the project) will play the lead, a man at war who becomes a monk at the end of his life, while Monica Bellucci will play the love of his life. According to the latest news from the crew, Monica has been learning Serbian in preparation for the role and will start shooting next month in Southern Bosnia.

Love And War is being produced by Paula Vaccaro through Pinball London Ltd. Other partners are BN Films in Los Angeles and Rasta International (Kusturica’s own company.) The film is being put together as a Serbian-UK-US production.

Le riprese inizieranno ad ottobre, quando Monica sarà libera dagli impegni presi con Kusturica, per Love and War.

E a proposito di Love and War, Kusturica (che ha anche firmato la sceneggiatura) interpreterà il protagonista, un uomo in guerra che si fa monaco alla fine della vita, mentre Monica Bellucci interpreterà l’amore della sua vita. Secondo le ultime news dalla crew, Monica ha imparato il serbo in preparazione per il ruolo, e inizierà a girare il mese prossimo nel sud della Bosnia.

Love and War è prodotto da Paula Vaccaro della Pinball London Ltd. Altri partners sono la BN Films di Los Angeles e la Rasta International (dello stesso Kusturica). Il film uscirà come produzione Serba, britannica e americana.

It’s gonna be a busy month for Monica Bellucci and the whole cast from Daniele Thompson’s Des gens qui s’embrassent! Last week, Monica attended several TV shows to speak about the film. Only a month and a half away!

Looks like the lovely couple has found a new way to have fun: samba! According to Brazilian newspapers, Monica Bellucci and her husband of 13 years Vincent Cassel are officially going to perform along with their samba school on February 9, during the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Can’t wait to see them!

It is also been confirmed that shootings for Mimmo Calopresti’s Uno Per Tutti are beginning in February.

Serbian director Emir Kusturica is about to direct Monica Bellucci, Tahar Rahim and fiancé Leila Bekhti in his upcoming project, which is still untitled but whose plot has already been unveiled yesterday by Kusturica himself, at Marrakech Film Festival:

«It’s a beautiful love story – a young Moroccan wife doesn’t see things clearly, so she needs to move to France to get better. Her grandfather  sets up a wedding with a rich old man so she can go to Marseille, while her lover stays in Morocco and tries everything to join her».

I assume the “young wife” is clearly going to be played by Bekhti (which is of Algerian heritage), so we’ll have to wait to know more about Monica’s role. Shootings are scheduled for the end of April 2013.

And speaking of April 2013, I have some good news for Monica’s Italian fans! Des Gens Qui S’embrassent‘s French release has been slightly delayed from April 13 to April 24, in order to have a simoultaneos release both in Italy and in France.

Il regista serbo Emir Kusturica dirigerà Monica Bellucci, Tahar Rahim e la fidanzata Leila Bekhti nel suo prossimo film, che è ancora senza titolo ma la cui trama è stata già rivelata ieri, dallo stesso Kusturica, in occasione del Marrakech Film Festival:

«E’ una bellissima storia d’amore – una giovane moglie marocchina non vede le cose in modo chiaro, quindi ha bisogno di andare in Francia per guarire. Suo nonno organizza un matrimonio con un uomo ricco e vecchio cosicché lei possa trasferirsi a Marsiglia, mentre il suo amante, rimasto in Marocco, cercherà di fare di tutto per raggiungerla».

Presumo che la “giovane moglie” sarà chiaramente interpretata dalla Bekthi (che è di origini algerine), quindi dovremo aspettare perché si sappia qualcosa di più a proposito del ruolo di Monica. Le riprese sono previste per la fine di aprile 2013.

E a proposito di aprile 2013, ho delle buone notizie per i fans italiani! L’uscita francese di Des Gens Qui S’embrassent è stata leggermente spostata, dal 13 al 24 aprile, per permetterne l’uscita simultanea sia nei cinema francesi che in quelli italiani.

Monica Bellucci attended a state dinner to honor Italian President Giorgio Napolitano at the Elysee Palace in Paris yesterday. President Napolitano is on a two-day state visit in Paris, and the event was attended by French President Francois Holland himself.
