Turkish medias are reporting that Monica Bellucci will be working again with Turkish beauty Beren Saat in Fabien Pruvot’s Guardian of the Harem. Bellucci and Saat have already shared an acting experience in Bahman Ghobadi’s Rhinos Season (out in 2012) as mother and daughter. The rumor has yet to be confirmed by Monica Bellucci’s rep, but looks like shootings are beginning in October.

Guardian of the Harem (we previously reported news about it, as the movie is in the works since 2009) is produced by Aylin Livaneli’s InterFilm and is based on the novel by Zulfu Livaneli, and is set in Istanbul during the 17th century of the Ottoman Empire. Forest Whitaker is rumored to be starring in the movie too.

La Bellucci e la Saat hanno già lavorato insieme nei panni di madre e figlia nel film di Bahman Ghobadi, Rhinos Season (che uscirà nel 2012). La voce deve essere anora confermata dal portavoce di Monica Bellucci, ma pare che le riprese inizieranno a ottobre.

Norvegian model and actress Natassia Malthe has been chosen to replace Peta Wilson as Josephine,  but there is still no news about legendary actress Claudia Cardinale, who should be in the movie too.

According to rumours, shootings are about to begin as the movie is expected to be presented in Venice this September. By the way there is no official news  from Interfilm or Monica Bellucci’s rep yet, so let’s wait to know more before making it official.

La modella e attrice norvegese Natassia Malthe avrebbe preso il posto di Peta Wilson nel ruolo di Josephine, mentre non ci sono ancora notizie sulla partecipazione della leggenda italiana Claudia Cardinale, altra chiacchierata protagonista del film.

Secondo le voci, le riprese starebbero già per iniziare poichè il film dovrebbe essere addirittura presentato a Venezia questo settembre. Comunque non ci sono ancora comunicati ufficiali dalla Interfilm o dalla portavoce di Monica Bellucci, quindi aspettiamo di saperne di più prima di ufficializzare la notizia.

The Internet Movie Database is reporting that Monica Bellucci is rumored to star with Peta Wilson and Claudia Cardinale in the costume-drama Guardian of the Harem, directed by Fabien Pruvot. The movie is marked as in Pre-Production and here is the current plot:

An exotic tale, set in Istanbul during the 17th century of the Ottoman Empire, where the Emperor Sultan Ibrahim, his mother Anastasia and Suleiman, the eunuch of the Harem, find themselves entangled in a series of conspiracies that lead them to their final deaths.

Please note that Monica Bellucci is currently only *rumored* to be in the project, playing the character of Turhan Sultan. The movie is based on the novel “The Eunuch of Constantinople”, by Zülfü Livaneli. Let’s wait for more news!
